Player of the year
*Russell Bootwright, Mills Godwin, Sr.: Who has a better soccer name than this? Off to a terrific start with five goals in two games.
Forwards
Vito Lauretano, Thomas Dale, Sr.: Has worked his way into the spotlight with the Knights. Tallied 13 goals as a junior.
Caleb Lewis, Lee-Davis, Sr.: Long-haired scored kicked in 12 goals in 2009.
*Mason Page, Matoaca, Sr.: Put in three goals in a win over Freeman already. Potent scorer.
Pops Richards, Cosby, Sr.: Long strides and tall frame makes the Titan a difficult cover.
Midfielders
Dylan Bowman, James River, Sr.: Handles the ball with ease. The catalyst for James River's offense.
Ramon Gomez, Monacan, Sr.: Sets the pace for coach Sean Hollingshed. Reached the net 12 times in 2009.
Bobby McDonald, Deep Run, Sr.: 13 goals in 16 games in 2009, the only Deep Run player in double figures.
Defender
Garrett Harvey, Mills Godwin, Sr.: Harvey does damage in the midfield, but will be helping out more in the defensive backfield this season.
Dillon Prendergast, Matoaca, Sr.: Size and speed combination makes Prendergast a tough guy to get by.
Keepers
Bill Groben, Thomas Dale, Sr.: Has been a force for years, giving up 10 goals in two years of play.
Mike McCabe, Atlee, Sr.: Showed up huge in big games as a junior, including shutout of Dale in playoffs.

Preseason Top 10
1. Mills Godwin (2-0): Coach Herb Modrak looks to lead the Eagles back to the state championship game, this time wanting hardware.
2. Cosby (4-0): A lot of Titans have departed, but young talent remains.
3. James River (5-0): Quick start for Rapids has surprised region. Nate Shiffman has been getting in done in the midfield.
4. Deep Run (1-0): First-year coach Frank Ford has inherited an experienced group, including midfielder Brandon Hauser.
5. Monacan (2-0): Chiefs are senior-laden, with second-team all-region Chase Farnsworth back.
6. Patrick Henry (3-0): Patriots have been a pleasant shock early. 5-1 win over Atlee an eye opener.
7. Matoaca (1-1): Can the Warriors take the Central from Dale?
8. Lee-Davis (3-1): Looks like the Confederates are the class of the Capital District.
9. J.R. Tucker (2-1): No. 9? Yep. Marcel Almeida and Malik Banks can flat-out score. Fell to L-D by a goal.
10. Thomas Dale (1-1): Knights fell to Atlee early, which drops them here. But never count coach Mark Fowler's bunch out.
